On Saturday, January 25th 2025, over 300 students and their teachers will gather at Nazareth University School of Music to participate in our annual Gold Cup Festival. This is a non-competitive event that gives piano students a practice incentive and an opportunity to receive constructive feedback on their playing. Every participant receives a certificate of recognition. Students who receive a Superior Rating for three years earn their Gold Cup - a beautiful commemoration of their hard work. Finally, each year 50-60 students are chosen to perform in the Honors Recitals, held at Linehan Chapel on Nazareth’s campus.
Requirements:
Two memorized, polished piano pieces chosen from standard piano repertoire. No pop songs, video game music, movie/Broadway music, or arrangements are permitted.
$30 registration fee
My hope is that every one of my students experiences the Gold Cup Festival at some point during their piano study. It’s helpful for young pianists to have something to work towards, and this event exists to support students in their musical journey.
